Helping clients make positive social change through graphic design and writing is my passion, which is why I founded Amina Derbi Creative LLC. In addition to being the Founder and President of Amina Derbi Creative, I am a freelance graphic designer and writer. Previously, I worked for mission-driven organizations based in the New York and Washington, DC areas. I like to joke that DC and New York City are small towns dressed up like cities, nearly everyone knows someone you know, and there’s familiarity in the eyes of every stranger you meet.
Finding that familiarity and making connections in a world full of contradictions and chaos is what I strive to do when creating pieces for clients that resonate with their audiences and expand their impact. Carefully asking the right questions and being attentive to what each stakeholder says and feels is an essential part of my creative process. Critically thinking about each project while harnessing the power of visual and written tools ensures that every piece creates a meaningful experience every time.

Year 1: Feb. 2023 - Jan. 2024
This snapshot shares some highlights from the LLC’s first year of operation. Thanks so much to everyone I worked with and learned from! In addition to being fortunate enough to do paid work for meaningful causes, take on pro bono projects, and complete online training in responsible AI, AI & creativity, and UX design — I was lucky enough to carry and give birth to a baby girl.
I was on maternity leave and did not take on any new design or writing projects during this time. :)
Year 2: Feb. 2024 - Jan. 2025
I had the honor of creating social media post templates and carousels for UNICEF NextGen (May-September 2025) in addition to branding materials for Erin Herman, a globally recognized Keynote Speaker, Facilitator, and Social Impact Strategist (March-September 2025), before welcoming my second daughter in the fall of 2025. I will be on maternity leave (again) and will not be taking on any new projects. :)
